Altis wasn’t always Altis, overtime the company took on new names and new roles as it created mergers and partnerships with other local companies to create a super company dedicated to giving you the best service in southern Alberta.
Formally known as Data Control Management Solutions Ltd., DCMS was a full service consulting company that provided extensive hardware and software expertise. The company sought to improve investments in IT that saved people’s money, time and data. In 2008, DCMS stood alone before it merged with EFG Solutions in 2009 and kept the DCMS name.
Chinook IT, also known as Chinook Integrated Technologies was a stand alone company that specialized in medical workflow and imaging. The company serviced several medical offices in Lethbridge and the surrounding area. In 2017 Chinook IT sought to expand it’s reach and merged with DCMS to create Altis MSP.
Reiter Computer Associates Ltd. once sold and repaired computers as well as specializing in software sales and networking. In 2018, they looked to find a strategic partner to break into the wider market available in southern Alberta. It was at this point that Reiter joined the Altis team.
Formally a subsidiary of DCMS, techYES specialized in on site support and hardware maintenance offering diagnostics and virus removal. In 2012, techYES was formed as part of DCMS to provide services more focused on the consumer featuring home and small office support.
EFG Solutions was conceived as a senior project at Lethbridge College in 1991 by Norm Embleton, Timothy Frantz, and Stephen Graham. It officially started business in September 1993 as a software development company. By 2009, Data Control Management Solutions Ltd. and EFG Solutions Inc. saw an opportunity to leverage each other’s strengths and the two companies merged under the DCMS name.
